Thoubal is a city, a municipal council with 18 municipal wards and District Headquarter in Thoubal district in the Indian state of Manipur. The new market building has been constructing. Main tourist places are Chinga Lairembi temple, Manipur Sahitya Samiti building, Tomjing ching, Panthoibee temple, etc. Main shopping centres are Thoubal Keithel, Ningombam Luxmi Bazar, Athokpam Bazar etc. Siroi Offset Printers and Siroi Group are main business centres of Thoubal. Thoubal College is the only government degree college and Dr RK Yaiskul Singh was the principal of the college (now currently working as addl director in directorate of education U). The Chaoyaima Higher Secondary School, Evergreen Flower School, Ananda Purna High School, Ruda Academy, Paradise English School, etc. are pioneer schools of Thoubal. State Bank of India (SBI), United Bank of India (UBI) and Manipur State Cooperative Bank Ltd (MSCB Ltd) are banks operated in the area.

Thoubal is located at .[1] It has an average elevation of 765 metres (2509 feet). Main market/keithel is located at the bank of Thoubal river and pass through by National Highway 39.

Demographics

As of 2001 India census,[2] Thoubal had a population of 41,149. Males constitute 50% of the population and females 50%. Thoubal has an average literacy rate of 69%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 80%, and female literacy is 58%. In Thoubal, 13% of the population is under 6 years of age.
