Thornton–Cleveleys

Thornton–Cleveleys is an unparished area in the English local government district of Wyre, Lancashire, covering the towns of Thornton and Cleveleys. It forms part of the Greater Blackpool area.

The civil parish of Thornton became an urban district in 1900, and was renamed Thornton–Cleveleys in 1927.[1]

On 1 April 1974, the urban district became part of the Borough of Wyre. Thornton-Cleveleys corresponds with six wards of the borough.

Thornton Cleveleys FC and Norcross & Warbreck FC play football in The West Lancashire Football League, both sides home pitches are based in Thornton
