Tom O'Brien, American politician, is currently the Treasurer of Plymouth County, Massachusetts. Voters elected O’Brien as Treasurer in a decisive win over Republican challenger Edward J. O’Connell in the fall 2008 elections.[1] O’Brien was originally unanimously appointed to the position in 2006. His 2008 election is for a six year term and he will be up for reelection in 2014.
Tom O'Brien served as the Massachusetts State Representative for the 12th Plymouth District, which includes the towns of Kingston and Plympton and parts of Plymouth, Duxbury, Halifax, and Middleborough. He is a Democrat. O'Brien was first elected to the Massachusetts House in 1996. O'Brien has a perfect 100% voting record, never having missed a roll call vote. During most of his tenure, he was the only Eagle Scout serving in the Massachusetts legislature.
O'Brien is also the CEO and President of Bay Colony Baseball & Athletics, LLC, the parent company of the Plymouth River Eels baseball team.
O'Brien lives in Kingston with his two children. He earned a bachelor's degree from Georgetown University.
