Thisayanvilai is a panchayat town in Tirunelveli district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu.

Demographics

As of 2001 India census,[1] Tisaiyanvilai had a population of 19,557. Males constitute 48% of the population and females 52%. Tisaiyanvilai has an average literacy rate of 77%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 81%, and female literacy is 73%. In Tisaiyanvilai, 12% of the population is under 6 years of age.

Education

There are many schools in Thisayanvilai. Holy redeemers higher secondary school and Stella Mary's Girls High School are among them.[2] The panchayat town also has an engineering college named VV college of Engineering.[3]

Industry

Being nearer to minerals rich beaches, Thisayanvilai has one of the India's largest Garnet & Ilmenite exporting company named VV Minerals.[4]
