Thiagarajan Kumararaja

Thiagarajan Kumararaja(Tamil : தியாகராஜன் குமாரராஜா), 1976 born and raised in Chennai, dropped out of an undergrad in visual communications from Loyola College and started work as a freelance copywriter and photographer for a while. He directed a five part documentary on South Indian Temples ”Sthala Puranam” for Vijay TV. He was a popular advertisement filmmaker, who has also directed several short films, including the short film Becky which was awarded the first prize at the one-minute film competition 60 Seconds to Fame. He has written the dialogs for the movie Oram Po, also written a song in Va Quarter Cutting film. He is a good friend of the directors of the movie Pushkar and Gayathri. They introduced him to S.P.B. Charan, where he got a chance to narrate the story of Aaranya Kaandam. S.P.B. Charan was impressed with the story and agreed to produce the film.

Aaranya Kaandam which introduced actor Jackie Shroff to Tamil films, stars Ravi Krishna and Sampath Raj in the lead roles with debutante Yasmin Ponnappa as heroine. Aaranya Kaandam also won The Grand Jury Award for best Film at South Asian International Film Festival.[1]
