Theagenes

Theagenes (Greek: Θεαγένης) was the name of several persons:

• Theagenes of Megara, tyrant of Megara of 6th c. BC
• Theagenes of Rhegium, a literary critic of 6th c. BC.
• Theagenes of Thasos, a famous sportsman of 5th c. BC
• Theagenes of Patras, a Cynic philosopher of the 2nd century
• Theagenes (historian) of unknown date
• Theagenes (patrician), an Athenian politician of the 5th century
• Theagenes, last commander of the Theban Sacred Band, who died with them at the Battle of Chaeronea in 338 BC.
