The wild mercury sound

The Wild Mercury Sound are a British four piece indie/rock band from London, England. The Wild Mercury Sound formed while at school in 2007. Their name is taken from a Bob Dylan quote where he described his 1966 Blonde on Blonde album as sounding like 'that thin wild mercury sound'.

The band have played shows across England and in France, in 2011 they announced their first ever UK tour in support of their debut single Miss Frost, which was released on Hearts & Minds Records on the 3rd of October. The single was produced by record producer Peter Miles and the accompanying video directed by Kit Harwood.

The single has received notable support on radio, the band appeared on Steve Lamacq's BBC 6 Music show as his "Favourite new band", they also won the 6music rebel playlist meaning the single was played on every single show on the station over its release campaign and were played on BBC Radio 2's Dermot O'Leary show. They have also appeared in the likes of the NME, Artrocker, Music Week, Metro and key blogs such as This Is Fake DIY and AAA Music.

The tour finished with a sell out show at the Barfly (club), in London on the 6th of October 2011. Their second single will be released in 2012 and the band are to spend the rest of the year touring and writing for their debut album.^[1][2]
