The Violet Burning
The Violet Burning is an independent rock and roll band based in Long Beach, USA. The band was formed in 1990 in Orange County, California by Michael J. Pritzl.
Their first release in 1990. The band is the project of singer/guitarist/songwriter Michael J. Pritzl. They are associated with the Christian music industry throughout their career, though they have occasionally butted heads with labels due to content. They have toured North America and Europe and managed to sell over 100,000 discs due largely to their frequent touring. Fans affectionally call them "The Violets". Resembling U2 with more gain and distortion – The Violet Burning plays a mix of rock music and vibey space rock.
Current status
The new release by The Violet Burning, a 3 album set with 34 brand new songs titled The Story of Our Lives-Liebe über Alles, Black as Death and The Fantastic Machine. released digitally March 6, 2011. A physical copy of the box set in a limited edition numbered package with an 80 page full color CD booklet is scheduled to ship on April 4, 2011. All orders of the Limited Edition Package come with immediate digital downloads of the albums and digital booklet. The band toured in the summer of 2011 in support of the new releases throughout the US and Europe.
