The Other TaxPayers' Alliance is a British non-profit organization formed in 2008 to campaign for a fairer tax society.
According to its website, the mission of the OTPA is to address the selective material released by the right wing pressure group known as The TaxPayers' Alliance.[1][2] An organisation that claims to represent a "grassroots alliance" of "ordinary taxpayers" but which is actually a free-to-join mailing list.
The Other TaxPayers' Alliance receives no funding, is quite happy to be described as left-wing and also makes no claim to represent all taxpayers. It does point out that 99.6% of British taxpayers are not represented by its namesake either. The Other TaxPayers' Alliance is run on a volunteer basis by website developer Clifford Singer, with help from an informal network of bloggers.

In 2010, The Other TaxPayers' Alliance was successful in establishing that a free-schools lobby group headed by a former adviser to Michael Gove was given a £500,000 grant by his department without it being advertised or other groups being asked to tender for it,.[3]
Since 2009 the Alliance has provided a "handy tool for busy journalists, The TaxPayers’ Alliance quote generator, providing spurious statements attacking public spending, whether the spending is worthwhile or not.[4]
