The Independents (vocal group)
The Independents were an American R&B vocal group active from 1971 to 1975. They scored several hits on the U.S. Pop and R&B charts. Their biggest success came in 1973 when "Leaving Me" went to #21 on the Billboard Hot 100, staying on that chart for 14 weeks and selling over one million copies.[1] The R.I.A.A. awarded a gold disc on 23 May 1973.[1]
