The Great Tree is a game that was developed by Reflexive Entertainment. The game is centered around the player collecting "pollen" with their faerie character. Each level progresses only when enough pollen is collected to fill up the meter. Each level gets successively more difficult as obstacles (in this case they are different kinds of insects) get in the way of the faerie collect pollen and freeing the "imprisoned Swee" (good guy bugs).

The Great Tree is dying. A chosen few must risk everything to save it before it is too late. The very existence of the fairies is tied to this great tree.[1] Avoiding the dangers of creatures and bugs, the player's faerie character must collect pollen to free the Swee in order to save the faerie clan.
There are various Insects that show up on different levels throughout the game.[2]
Insect Name | Description | |
---|---|---|
Swee | The Swee used to collect the pollen that sustained The Great Tree. | |
Globulocks | The Globulocks are the sole keepers of the "Liberatus Spiral". The Liberatus Spiral is a powerful spell needed in order to free the bewitched Swee. | |
Ebbers | Ebbers are known to move in diagonal directions as to confuse their prey. | |
Zeebane | The Zeebane always fly in groups and use their numbers to fool their prey. Their size is very deceiving as their sting is very powerful. | |
Wicker Flies | These bugs are extremely fast, striking without warning, and carry quite the sting. Their extraordinary strength is also harnessed by the Ixie to grant them flight. | |
Bumblemogs | Their erratic flight path can cause havoc in the blink of an eye. When they fly in larger numbers they can be devastating. |
