The Brewery is a shopping and leisure centre located in Romford, England. It is built on the former site of the Star Brewery, and opened in 2001.
In 2010 a 25% stake in the complex was sold by Henderson Global Investors to Prudential Property Investment Managers for £44.25m.[1] At the time of the sale, its location in London, mix of retail and leisure uses, and the Sainsbury's supermarket anchor store was explained as reasons for its sustained success during the late-2000s recession.[2]
Leisure uses in the centre include a Namco unit branded as Number Ten[3] and a Vue cinema. The Brewery is located within Romford town centre and is near to Romford railway station. A number of London bus routes stop nearby and route 165 terminates within the centre car park.[4]
The murder of Daniel Pollen took place at the bicycle railings in 2005.
