Loop 14 is a mostly north–south highway in Texarkana, Texas, which forms the northernmost three-fourths of Texas Boulevard. Beginning at State Line Avenue (US 71) immediately opposite Arkansas Boulevard on the Texas-Arkansas state line, it travels due west, curves to the south at a radius of about five blocks. Further south, it intersects Richmond Road before terminating at a three-way intersection with U.S. Highway 82. Texas Boulevard continues to the south, signed as eastbound US 82, while the third corridor, westbound US 82, is locally known as New Boston Road.

Loop 14 is 2.225 miles (3.581 km) long[1] and was part of the original alignment of U.S. Highway 59 through Texarkana.

Route description

Loop 14 begins at an intersection with US 82 in Texarkana, Bowie County, with the road continuing south as a part of US 82. From here, the highway heads north on Texas Boulevard, a five-lane road with a center left-turn lane that passes businesses. The road continues into residential areas with some businesses, curving to the east. Loop 14 heads into commercial areas and ends at an intersection with US 71 (State Line Avenue) at the Arkansas border, where the road continues east into Texarkana, Arkansas as Arkansas Boulevard.[1][2][3]

History

Loop 14 was designated onto its current alignment in 1939. The route has not changed since.[1]
