Tensa is a census town in Sundargarh district in the Indian state of Orissa.
As of 2001[update] India census,[1] Tensa had a population of 4236. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Tensa has an average literacy rate of 68%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 75%, and female literacy is 61%. In Tensa, 12% of the population is under 6 years of age.
Tensa is situated above a hill which is a part of Chota Nagpur Hill Chain of Eastern India. Tensa is surrounded by Green Forest with mineral deposit. The minerals which are available in Tensa region are Iron Ore(Fe2O3 & Fe3O4), Manganese and Bauxite. The Tensa city is developed and modernised by Steel Authority of India Limited. Now Tensa is considered a prominent Hill Station of India. The average temperature is not more than 30 degrees Celsius in all seasons. The lush, green hills, stones, and animals attract everybody to enjoy.
