Teleocichla is a small genus of seven cichlid formally described species[1] and several undescribed species, endemic to the Amazon River Basin in South America. All species are rheophilic, and highly elongated in shape. Most species only reach around 6 centimetres (2.4 in) in length, making them are among the smallest cichlids of the Americas.
