Taughmaconnell, officially Taghmaconnell[1] (Irish: Teach Mhic Conaill, meaning "MacConaill's house"), is a village in County Roscommon, Ireland. It lies between Athlone and Ballinasloe.
The majority of people work hard on the land at a mixture of cattle and sheep. Ballinasloe is approx. 5 miles and Athlone is approx 6 miles. St Ronan's well lies in the middle of the parish and hosts an annual mass. McHugh's Tavern, and Killeen's Pub are the local pubs and Costelloe's shop and now post office lie in the centre of the parish beside the church.
Local tourism site and activities include St. Ronan's well, Castlesampson castle, and rare orchid flora walking trips.
