The village is known for the great clan of now famous Tata family . One of the prominent personalities of the Tata family in this village is Tata Venkanna pantulu garu AKA Bhootala Venkanna. His lineage now spread to USA with Srivatsa Tata who is a great grand son of Dr. Tata Ramabhadrudu from neighboring Ramabhadrapuram Village, Grand son of Tata Suryanarayana and son of Tata Venkata Satya Prabhakara Murthy.
