Lightly raced at 2, Tapit won an 8 furlong maiden special weight before going on to win the Grade II Laurel Futurity Stakes.
At 3, he won the Grade I Wood Memorial Stakes.
Upon retirement to Gainesway Farm in 2005, Tapit currently (2009) stands for $50,000.
His progeny include the graded stakes winning filly, Stardom Bound, War Echo, and Laragh.
Tapit was bred to My White Corvette,as she in turn produced the near undefeated, Stardom Bound. Tapit has been booked for his 2010 stud career. He still stands at Gaineway Farm in Lexington Kentucky for a fee of $50,000 stands and nurses for the 2011 breeding season.
