Taleh (Somali: Taleex) is an historical town in the northeastern Sool region of Somalia. It served as the headquarters of the pre-independence Dervish State.[1]

Taleh was the centre of the anti-colonial movement led by Mohammed Abdullah Hassan until 1921, when he and his Dervish followers were defeated. The town was subsequently subjected to aerial bombardment, and Hassan was forced to abandon his palace there and retreat into the Ogaden.[2]
Taleh is the administrative capital of the Taleex District of the Sool region. It has a population of 40,000 inhabitants.
