T-Max (티 맥스), stylized as T-MAX, T-Max is South Korean group under Planet905 Entertainment, formerly called as 2Step entertainment. T-Max is made from ‘Triple, Trinity’ and such which contains 3 meaning in the word’s first alphabet T. And will present the energy and talent till Max form phrase ’3 perfect group and their dominance ‘ that’s forms the team. It is supposed to be the South Korean version of Japanese group Arashi. It has a five-member, three are active include Shin Min Chul, Park Yun Hwa, Kim Hyung Jun (also known as Kim Joon, Park Han Bi & Joo Chan Yang. Lately it was revealed that the 24-year old Yun Hwa has decided to join the army sometime in the year 2010 instead of waiting until he is 29-years-old, which is what most male entertainers in the entertainment industry do [1] As of September 2011, Member Kim Joon has also join the army. [2]

Following the withdrawal of Park Yun Hwa, T-Max recruited two new members – one is a former contestant of ‘Superstar K’, Joo Chan Yang, and the other is rookie Park Han Bi.[3]

The group has released One full-length Album, Five Single Albums and one EP, and have contributed to the Boys Over Flowers (TV series), Detectives in Trouble and Master of Study OSTs. Their first full length album, Born To The Max, was released on May 25, 2010 The members of the group have had various activities as solo entertainers, such as acting in dramas, sitcoms, and musicals.

History

Story

The 5-guy group, was formed based on the idea of maximum, perfect harmony, as it's name suggests. Their debut song is a J-pop style dance track about the moment that new love blooms. Many know T-Max as the group who filmed themselves dancing to Arashi's "Love So Sweet" and gave it as a gift to their producer. T-Max released their first album Blooming in year 2007 as they debuted.

Pre-debut

T-Max was first formed with 3 members. Shin Min Chul was former member of the boy band B.O.K and sung Sang Doo, Let’s Go to School OST "Dan Nyum" & Strange Woman Strange Men OST "Tears". Park Yun Hwa is a contestant of "Battle Shinhwa" formed by Good Entertainment & M.Net.

Debut(2007)

T-Max debuted in Korea on July 19, 2007. The group released their first Single Album, Blooming on June 13, 2007, with the main track, "Blooming." Then they performed on Mnet's M! Countdown, Show Music Tank, Music Bank etc with Blooming track.

Single albums

After First Single "Blooming", they make 2nd Single entitled "Lion Heart" with the main track Lion heart released on November 30, 2007. Followed by their 3rd Digital Single "Run To You" released on December 29, 2008 with main track "Neol Saranghae".

Park Yun Hwa will be on a new SBS show called “Mak Ban Shi” or Idol Maknae Rebellion. He will join the other idol group maknaes such as U-Kiss’ Dongho, FT Island’s Song Seunghyun, 2AM’s Jung Jinwoon, and Might Mouth’s Shorry J. Aired on 7 November 2009, a show designed to bring popular idol group maknaes (i.e. youngest member) out in the light. He got a Collaboration song with 4minute leader Hyuna with a song "Last Winter" in their album "Love Parade".[4]

Shin Min Chul participate on Drama OST, he sung The Return of Iljimae "Last Hero". Later Kim Joon got a big break, he got a role in drama titled "Boys over Flowers" with a role of "Prince Song Woo Bin". After that T-Max released their 4th Single "Single Collection" which T-Max members have a solo track on July 8, 2009. Followed by 5th Digital Single "Love Parade" released on September 3, 2009 with a main track of "Want/Wonhae". T-Max participate on Boys Over Flowers (TV series) Drama OST & F4 Special Edition Album OST. Later on T-Max release Japanese Version of "Paradise" in their album "Motto Paradise" on September 2, 2009.

2010

T-Max choose to sung Drama OST's like Master of Study(2010), Fuyu No Sonata(2010, Detectives in Trouble(2011) It revealed that the 24-year old Yun Hwa has decided to join the army sometime in the year 2010 instead of waiting until he is 29-years-old. The decision was revealed on the 5th where Yun Hwa wrote a message on T-Max’s fancafe. He regrets that he has to leave the group but this was a decision that he had made with much thought. He also hopes that everyone will continue supporting T-Max and he will return as a better musician in future. On November 16, 2010, Yun Hwa officially joined the army as an active duty soldier, however a day prior he posted a message on T-Max's cafe never saying that he will be back in T-Max once he is done with his duty. Yun Hwa also posted a message stating that he will come back to T-Max through Kim Jun's twitter.[5]

New members and comeback

Because of withdrawal of Park Yun Hwa, T-Max recruited two new members – one is a former contestant of ‘Superstar K’, Joo Chan Yang, and the other is rookie Park Han Bi.

The 2 members of T-Max Shin Min Chul & Kim Joon will have a comeback with new members Park Han Bi and Joo Chan Yang. T-Max is making a return with their new album, Born to the Max and they are set to make a splash after adding two new members.

2011 & Disbandment

Kim Joon has also left for the army on 29th September 2011. T-Max left a final gift for their fans before Kim Joon’s enlistment with a new track. Titled, “She is Crying”, it’s a ballad song with a sad tempo and tells of a man’s confession of seeking forgiveness and the pain of farewell from his lover. [6]

Minchul and Chanyang will continue their path as singers, while Kim Joon, Yunhwa, and Park Hanbi concentrate on their acting careers.CEO Yoon Jung Soo expressed, “They’re a group like real brothers to me and I truly did all I could for them so I wanted to take in whatever decision they chose. I told them that they could return as T-Max whenever they wanted to.”[7]
