Swink is an unincorporated community in Choctaw County, Oklahoma, United States. The population was 83 at the 2000 census, at which time it was a town; the community disincorporated on December 1, 2000.[3]

Swink is located at (34.018441, -95.202851)[4].

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town had a total area of 0.2 square miles (0.52 km2), all of it land.

Demographics

As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 83 people, 36 households, and 24 families residing in the town. The population density was 513.1 people per square mile (200.3/km²). There were 47 housing units at an average density of 290.6 per square mile (113.4/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 90.36% White, 4.82% Native American, 1.20% from other races, and 3.61% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.20% of the population.

There were 36 households out of which 27.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 52.8% were married couples living together, 13.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 33.3% were non-families. 27.8% of all households were made up of individuals and 16.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.31 and the average family size was 2.75.

In the town the population was spread out with 22.9% under the age of 18, 4.8% from 18 to 24, 30.1% from 25 to 44, 20.5% from 45 to 64, and 21.7% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 41 years. For every 100 females there were 102.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 93.9 males.

The median income for a household in the town was $11,250, and the median income for a family was $13,929. Males had a median income of $52,917 versus $14,583 for females. The per capita income for the town was $7,748. There were 41.2% of families and 50.0% of the population living below the poverty line, including 54.5% of under eighteens and 20.0% of those over 64.
