History

In 1987, the Editora Abril bought the copyright of the Spanish magazine Muy Interesante to only "export" its reporting to Brazil, making the translation. But the magazine's team discovered that the European impression machines weren't adequate to fit the Brazilian printing standard, so they decided to make their own articles. Nowadays, it's Superinteressante that sells its articles to other magazines.

The magazine first publishing was in a little magazine with less than twenty pages (called "Edition 0"), with low importance to the main magazine, that was sold as a gift with other magazines. The first edition had a magazine's normal size and was about superconductivity and was a huge success and sold out in two weeks.

Nowadays, the magazine is the most influential (in Brazil) of its genre, with its own website, DVDs and a subdivision magazine called Mundo Estranho.
