Sunguvarchatram

Sunguvarchatram is a town in Kancheepuram District, Tamil Nadu. It is located near Sriperumbudur on the Chennai - Bangalore National Highway 4.

SUNGUVARCHATRAM- name was derived from SUNGU + CHATRAM, SUNGU which means TOLL in English, CHATRAM is guest house. In ancient days merchants from Kanchipuram[then pallava kingdom capital] used to goto chennai pattinam for trade purpose crossing this place,Sunguvarchatram.During their journey they used to stay in the guest houses and they also paid tax for their trading to the authorised persons. so its sunguchatram,and day by day it translated into Sunguvarchatram.

Sunguvarchatram-Though its a small town,it doesn't have any status of town panchayat. Sunguvarchatram is actually divided by three town panchayat villages nearer to it namely Thirumangalam madura,Santhavellore and Molasur.Sunguvarchatram exaclty is a Bazaar street on the Chennai - Bangalore National Highway 4.

International companies like Motorola, Foxconn, Dell and Samsung are in this town.

Electronics City is an electronics industrial park spread over acres in sunguvarchatram or SVC , just outside chennai, India. It houses more than a 50 multinational industries, including IT industry leaders such as Motorola etc.

on the important company placed in sunguvarchatram is flextronics,which was inaugurated by the Indian prime minister Dr.manmohan singh in the year 2007.

more than this international airport GREENFIELD is suggested to be constructed by the year end 2009.
