Summon Night Craft Sword Monogatari: Hajimari no Ishi (サモンナイト クラフトソード物語 はじまりの石 Samon Naito: Kurafuto Sōdo Monogatari Hajimari no Ishi?) is an action role-playing game by Banpresto for the Nintendo Game Boy Advance system. Atlus USA, publisher of the first two Summon Night Game Boy Advance in North America, did not announce any plans of localizing the title. Although, in an e-mail sent asking about its release, Atlus said that they would be focusing more on Nintendo DS games, thus most likely not publishing this title.

Main Characters

Ritchburn (リッチバーン Ricchibān?): The male lead. He is voiced by Sayaka Aida.

Rifmonica (リフモニカ Rifumonika?): The female lead. She is voiced by Ai Shimizu.

The player chooses to play as either Rifmonica or Ritchburn at the beginning of the game. The other character is not seen or heard through the game.

Guardian Beasts

Summon Night Craft Sword Story:Hajimari no Ishi features four Guardian Beasts. One of them is acquired in the start of the game, and cannot be changed. The chosen beast will assist the player with magic and items during the battle, but unlike the past two Summon Night: Swordcraft Story games, it's possible to fight using your Guardian Beast. Also unlike the previous games, the Guardian Beast is never actually referred to as such. He or she is instead the main character's "partner," or simply "blacksmith's assistant"... but for the sake of consistency, they will continue to be referred to as Guardian Beasts throughout this article. Each one possesses a different Super Form, set of skills, forging specialties and dialogue.

RUN-DOR (ランドル Randoru?): A machine from the mechanoid world of Loreilal. He is the Power Type Guardian Beast; he has the most destructive and most expensive attacks. He also has a strong defense, but is the slowest of the four. His primary magic is lightning, and his special spell can restore a weapon's durability. Occasionally he appears to be crying, but don't be fooled! His lens is simply dusty, and he is in the process of cleaning it. (Or so he says.) Voiced by Yasuhiro Ishii

Enzi (エンジ Enji?): A demon from the world of Silturn, which resembles feudal Japan and is full of monsters and demons. He is the Speed Type Guardian Beast. He is the fastest, but his special attacks tend to be the weakest. His primary magic is fire. Voiced by Bin Shimada

Killfith (キルフィス Kirufisu?): A spirit from the world of Sapureth, where angels and demons dwell. He is the Aviation Type Guardian Beast. He is the only one who can fly, although he is physically the weakest. His primary magic is water, and his special spell is revival. He acts as if he is utterly evil and heartless, but cares for others deep down. Voiced by Mitsuki Saiga

Rufeel (ルフィール Rufīru?): A beast creature from the world of Maetropa, which is full of illusions and fantasies. She is the Balance Type Guardian Beast—which means just what it sounds like. Her abilities are very well-rounded, although her magical power is the lowest. Her primary magic is wind. Voiced by Mamiko Noto

Secondary Characters

Aside from the two main characters—i.e., whichever protagonist and Guardian Beast the player selects—there is a score of secondary and minor characters, several of whom the main character has a chance to speak with at the end of each game-day.

Murno (ミューノ Myuuno?): A strange girl who is familiar with the Guardian Beast, whoever it may be. She is sweet and apologetic, but knows how to stand her ground. She is in possession of a strange trinket called Govan's Demon Stone, which appears in the introductory movie shown towards the end of the first game-day.

V.E (ヴィー Vii?): She is not only the main character's Craftknight teacher since Master Rob died, but a Summon Creature who acts as his/her guardian. V.E is a dedicated Craftknight and a strict master who cares very much for the main character... even though it may not be obvious from the various head-slaps she gives to him/her. She is also known to occasionally wander off into her own fantasy world whenever she reminisces about Rob.

Jade (ジェイド Jeido?): An old friend of Rob and V.E's, who used to train with the main character up until Rob's death. He acts as a sort of big brother to the main character—who, in fact, calls him "elder brother" (アニキ aniki)... no matter how many times he tells him/her not to. He's a tough guy sometimes, but has a good heart.

Lemmy (レミィ Remii?): A sometimes-rival of the main character with a curt, sophisticated exterior, but who is a good guy deep down—a trait mostly demonstrated in the beginning through the younger character, Zakk. He works at Master Bostaph's workshop.

Tier (ティエ Tie?): The daughter of a pair of innkeepers in the inn town next to the village where the main character is from, Tier is obsessed with money. Whenever she senses an opportunity to earn money, a star shines off each lens of her glasses.

Minor Characters

Bostaph (ボスタフ Bosutafu?): The Master of the other workshop in the village where the main character lives, as well as at least two other workshops in different towns. He does not appear in person for the first few game days, but is mentioned several times by the characters and appeared in the main character's memory of V.E receiving the news that Master Rob died.

Zakk (ザック Zakku?): A klutzy kid who really looks up to Lemmy.

Rob (ロブ Robu?): The main character's former Craftknight teacher, allegedly killed by a Stray Summon a while before the beginning of the game.

Gillan (ギラン Giran?): One of the bad guys of the game, but the only man who is also a cross-dresser. So, if there was ever any gender-confusion looking at this person, that's why.

Benson (ベンソン Benson?): A Master Craftknight whose workshop is in the city. He doesn't talk much.

Thus (テュス Thusu?): Tier's father.

Roche (ロシェ Roshe?): Tier's mother.
