Location & History

Sucré is located on Magazine Street in the Garden District in New Orleans. Sucré (French for sugared[2])is owned by New Orleans restaurateur, and former Emeril Lagasse sous chef, Joel Dondis. Dondis partnered with famous pastry chef Tariq Hanna to open the restaurant[3].

At the time Sucré opened in 2007, it was the first dessert-only restaurant in New Orleans. Sucré serves plated desserts with custom garnishes in addition to boxed sweets.[4]

Pistachio & Rose Petal bar

Pistachio & Rose Petal is a candy bar sold exclusively through Sucré and through their website. It is packaged for individual sale and also in bundles mixed with Sucré's other chocolate bars. It is made of milk chocolate studded with Sicilian pistachios and candied rose petals and was first created by famous pastry chef Tariq Hanna at Sucre Sweet Boutique. Tariq is known for his unique pairings of exotic ingredients including these Sicilian pistachios, candied rose petals and violets, and Venezuelan chocolate.

Ingredients

The main ingredients in this chocolate bar are Sicilian Pistachios, Milk Chocolate, and Candied Rose Petals. The Sicilian pistachios are specifically chosen because they are said to have a stronger, sharper taste, due perhaps in part to the volcanic soil in which they're grown, and are slightly longer and thinner than those grown in the Middle East.
