Stuart Hill (born 1958[1]) is a British author. He was born in Leicester, where he still lives.[2] He has written three books in The Icemark Chronicles: The Cry of the Icemark, Blade of Fire and Last Battle of the Icemark.[3] He studied English, Classics and Ancient History at Newcastle University.[4]

On July 25 2011 released a new book available on the Kindle. It is a collection of ghost stories,called Tales From Moonshiny Hall, and is published under the name of S R Hill.

He is currently writing a new book called 'Sorceress'about post-Roman Britain and the struggle between the indigenous Celts and the invading Germanic tribes (Anglo-Saxons). It will be an arturian tale with a twist. Merlin and arthur will not be portraying the good guys but the baddies. However its release is in limbo at the moment. It has been finished and rewritten several times, but the publishers still have not decided when or if it will come out.
Stuart Hill also stated that he would like to return to the world of the Icemark, in particular about how Redrought came to power[5] and he will do so when the prequel called Redrought is released before Christmas 2011

Biography

Stuart Hill worked at a car factory for 6 years before going back to college to get his teaching degree. After teaching for several years, his life led him to create books that would impact the 21st Century. Stuart began writing the Icemark Series and once his books were accepted by Chicken House publishing Inc., he dedicated his time to writing the rest of the series. In 2005, Stuart published and copyrighted The Cry of the Icemark.[6]

His love for words came when he was only seven years old. Stuart saw and began to play with words because they gave him an interest in which any other person would find insane. Stuart is a devoted reader of ghost stories and is an avid fan of M.R. James, the Edwardian master of the genre. He has written several collections of his own Stuart Hill is also an artist and sells his work at art fairs in Leicester and surrounding areas
