Storm Jet is capable at flying at very high speed and loves to chase down Decepticons who think they are faster than he is. Although he has a stormy temper, he manages to control it most of the time, but woe to the Decepticon who pushes him beyond his patience. He conducts reconnaissance missions, deftly avoiding any missile attacks if he is spotted by the enemy.[1]

Though he is part of the Transformers: Robots in Disguise toy line, he does not appear in the anime series.

Toys

Storm Jet first appeared as an Autobot recolor of the Beast Machines deluxe Vehicon Jetstorm. His color scheme was solely red, white and black and was an intentional homage to the original Generation 1 character Jetfire.[2]

Storm Jet (Afterburner in Japan) is the leader of the Air Team (Energon's version of the Aerialbots) and the body to the team's combined form Superion Maximus. The only connection this Storm Jet has to the first is that they are jets and their color schemes are similar; Storm Jet's bio from Hasbro is curious in that the toy came with no weapons or accessories at all. Storm Jet did appear in the cartoon but was limited in character, making few appearances when not combined with his team.

Storm Jet is a fast and powerful Autobot warrior. He possesses a weapons arsenal that most Autobots would consider a generous upgrade. He is a precision marksman in both aerial and surface-to-air combat. Storm Jet never misses his target and has earned a notorious reputation for unnecessary roughness during battle. He has even been known to start arguments with other Autobots simply to spark a good-old fashioned brawl. Optimus Prime and Jetfire have warned this rambunctious fighter to cool it down during battle and to use his head before his fists. Although he respects his commanders' authority, Storm Jet cannot help but want to pound enemy metal anytime or anyplace.

Toys

The Energon Storm Jet toy was rereleased in Universe packaging during 2005 with no change in color scheme as a Big Lots store exclusive. All references to combining with other toys were removed from the package and instructions, but the toy was identical to the Energon release.[3]
He was later redecoed into Universe Deluxe jet Silverbolt.

Transformers: Universe

The name Storm Jet was used again on a space shuttle Micromaster as part of the Aerialbot team and forms an arm to the teams combined form Superion.

The Micromaster toy packaging was lacking in bios and no official bio has been released from Hasbro. This Storm Jet may be either of the previous two Storm Jets, Raker or a completely new character.

A rough translation of Raker's Japanese tech spec: Raker excels in outer space combat and can make atmospheric re-entry under his own power. He specializes in diving attacks from high altitudes. A real flirt, he has frequently fallen into crises through his relations with femmes.

According to the story for Berserker Sixwing, a computer virus briefly turned the Sixwing team into Decepticons.

Note: The name Raker seems to be a play on the name of the space shuttles seen in the James Bond film Moonraker.

Toys

A reissue of Raker as a Decepticon.[4]
A redeco of Raker in white as a Decepticon.[5]
Storm Jet was a recolor of the Generation One Japanese exclusive Raker.
Because the Universe toy line was not released in Europe, this toy was labeled as a Cybertron toy in some markets.[6]
