Steven Mercurio is an Italian American conductor and composer.

Steven Mercurio was born in Bardonia, New York, in 1956.[1] His father was an accountant, and his mother owned a delicatessen. He studied at Graham Junior College and Boston University before entering the Juilliard School of music in 1980, where he studied composition. He grew up listening to rock music and jazz.
Steven Mercurio has conducted more than 65 operas in seven different languages all over the world and has worked with award-winning artists like the Three Tenors, Andrea Bocelli, and Sting.[2]
He has written arrangements for a wide array of artists including Andrea Bocelli, Plácido Domingo, Ben Heppner, Bryn Terfel, Marcello Giordani, and Secret Garden.
His composition "For Lost Loved Ones" was written in honor of his younger brother, Paul, who disappeared in 1978.
In the fall of 2010, he conducted Sting's Sting and Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra world tour.
