Steven Ira Weiss is an Orthodox Jewish journalist and blogger.
Weiss co-founded the now defunct Protocols, a Jewish blogging sites,[1] where he coined the term "J-Blogosphere". He is also the founder of CampusJ, intended as a sort of "über-blog" for Jewish journalists at colleges around the country.[2] The mission of CampusJ is to "train a young generation of Jewish journalists in the reporting styles and methods of new media, while giving them the training and opportunities to enter the journalism workforce better-equipped than many of their fellow-classmen."[3] CampusJ lasted less than a year and hasn't been updates since 2008.
A former staff writer at The Forward, a printed Jewish daily newspaper,[4] Weiss is an executive[5] of and spokesman for The Jewish Channel, a video-on-demand compendium of Jewish movies, commentary and public affairs programming billing itself as "America's first national Jewish cable network."[6]
