Professional career

Covino started his career in broadcasting as the producer and co-host of Solid State on 92.3 K-ROCK WXRK in NYC (Later called Altered State with DJ Liquid Todd on 103.5 WKTU The Beat of NY). Covino then co-hosted K-ROCK's Hard On with Crazy Cabbie but after years of begging and pleading, Covino finally got his own weekend show at K-ROCK which led him to the stratospheres of satellite radio.

In addition to being a DJ, Covino was in the Marketing/Programming departments at WXRK and worked his way up to the head of the Promotions department. Covino held that position for many years until he was offered a fulltime DJ position by Maxim Radio.

Covino has worked at Sirius XM Satellite Radio since 2002. He is the nighttime host of SIRIUS-XM's Octane (Pure Hard Rock) and also hosted a weekend countdown called "The Blender Download 15" (Blender Magazine's Top 15 Downloads of the week) on MAXIM Radio. He is now best known as the host of one of the fastest growing talk shows: The Covino and Rich Show airing 11am - 3pm EST (currently replayed from 6pm - 8pm EST) worldwide on SIRIUS-XM STARS Too.

Covino is also a member of the "world infamous band" called Ticklesack (which is likely a play on the band Nickelback). They claim to be #1 in Canada and create songs that are meant for a more comedic value.

Personal life

Steve and his girlfriend Layla Kayleigh welcomed their daughter Melody Rain Covino into the world on November 2, 2009.[1]
