Stephen Kelman

Stephen Kelman is an English novelist, whose debut novel Pigeon English was a shortlisted nominee for the 2011 Man Booker Prize.[1]

Kelman was born and raised in Luton, Bedfordshire, growing up on the Marsh Farm estate.[2] He studied marketing at the University of Luton,[2] and subsequently worked in a factory before writing Pigeon English,[1] a novel inspired in part by the murder of Damilola Taylor in 2000.[1]
