The company employs almost 1,000 staff mostly in Queensland power stations, which together generate more than 4,000 megawatts of electricity.[2]
Major assets owned and operated by Stanwell include Stanwell Power Station, Tarong Power Stations, Meandu Mine, Koombooloomba Hydro Power Station, Kareeya Hydro Power Station, Barron Gorge Hydro Power Station, Mica Creek Power Station, Mackay Gas Turbine, Swanbank B and E Power Stations and Wivenhoe Small Hydro. Windy Hill Wind Farm in Queensland and Toora Wind Farm in Victoria were owned by Stanwell but were sold to Transfield Services in 2007.
