Stangnes is part of the city of Harstad in Troms county, Norway. It is located south-east of the city center, bordered by Gangsåstoppen and Åsby to the west, Kanebogen to the south-west and the fjord Vågsfjorden to the north and east.[1] Many people live in the area, where the kindergarten Stangneslia barnehage, the primary school Stangnes barneskole and the high school Stangnes videregående skole are located.
The south-eastern part of Stangnes is a large industrial area, Stangnesbasen, which was built in the 1980s to provide for those involved in the oil industry in the Barents Sea. The headland Stangnesodden to the north-east contains a former military base.
