Stangaland is a former municipality of the traditional district of Haugaland in Rogaland county, Norway. Stangaland was the rural municipality surrounding the city of Kopervik, and is now a part of what we define as Kopervik today.
It was created by a split from Avaldsnes on January 1, 1909. The new municipality had a population of 1.001.
On 1 January 1965 Stangaland was merged with Avaldsnes, Kopervik, Skudenes, Skudeneshavn, Torvastad and Åkra to form the new municipality Karmøy. Before the merger Stangaland had a population of 2,678.
