Sphaerobacter is a genus of bacteria when originally described was placed in its own subclass (Spahaerobacteridae) whitin the class Actinobacteria. Subsequently phylogenetic studies has now placed it in its own order Sphaerobacterales whitin the phylum Chloroflexi.[1][2]
