The Sperill Line (Norwegian: Sperillbanen) is an abandoned railway between Finstad and Sperillen in Buskerud, Norway. The 24 kilometres (15 mi) line had five stations, starting at Heen on the Randsfjord Line and continuing to the lake Sperillen where it connected with a ferry.
History
The steam ship Bægna had trafficked between Heen and Sørum since 1868. On 20 July 1921 the Norwegian legislature decided to build a railway to Sperillen, with a new port Finsand where Bægna continued in traffic until 1929, when it was replaced with a motor ship. But already on 1 June 1933 passenger traffic was terminated, as was the ferry traffic. Freight trains on the line were terminated in 1957.
