Cooking methods and ingredients

The basic ingredients that you need are spinach, rice, dill and onions. You need first to heat the onions and then add the dill and the spinach together with water and boil them. After a while add also the rice and remove from the heat when the water is vaporized. There are variations to that, adding red sauce.[1]

Serving methods

Spanakorizo is usually served as a main dish. Essentially you need to add lemon juice before serving it. People also like to add Feta cheese.[2]

Spanakorizo is a really nutritious food suitable for vegetarians if feta cheese is not added. Spinach is a high on Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Vitamin K, Thiamin, Riboflavin, Vitamin B6, Folate, Calcium, Iron, Magnesium, Phosphorus, Potassium, Copper and Manganes and is very low in cholesterol.[3]
