Athletics

SKHS is the home of the Rebels, a Division 1 athletics department (except the hockey team which has just moved to Division 2 after going 15-0-1 and making it to the state title game), particularly renowned for its formerly nationally ranked boys soccer team, which made it to the RI State finals in 2007. The boys tennis team won its thirteenth straight state championship. SKHS also has girls and boys track and field teams which are both Class B Champions. In 2009, the girls track and field team overcame LaSalle to become the girl's state champions. SKHS additionally has a wide variety of varsity and intramural sports.

Music and the Arts

The SKHS music department consists of various vocal and instrumental groups. A well-known group is eSKape, the music department's jazz vocal ensemble. It is one of the most respected and competitive school music competitions in the United States.

SKpades

Every year, the current junior class puts on a production called SKpades. SKpades is a variety show that traditionally combines a parody of a popular television show or movie along with skits that poke fun at some teachers, students, and aspects of life at SKHS. Recent themes have included The Godfather, 007, and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The class of 2007's theme was "The Rebel Awards," loosely based on the Academy Awards, and the class of 2008's theme was "Superheroes." The movie theme was recently brought back by the class of 2009, whose show was based on Alice in Wonderland. The class of 2010 theme was television shows, featuring such shows as Saturday Night Live. The class of 2011 put on a Scooby Doo themed show, where the classic mystery-solving gang had to find out who bleached the principal's suit. The class of 2012 used a time travel theme, in which two teachers travel back in time to stop the local CVS from being built. This causes the end of the world, and signs of the apocalypse show up locally: the girls softball team has won a match and the bell schedule is consistent each day.
