South Forsyth High School is a public high school, built in 1989, located in Cumming, Georgia, a suburb northeast of Atlanta, Georgia. It is 1 of 5 high schools in the Forsyth County School District, and serves students residing in parts of Cumming, Alpharetta, Duluth, and Suwanee. In 2010, South Forsyth High School was ranked #199 on Newsweek's "Top High Schools in America" publication.

South Forsyth currently competes in Region 7-AAAA and has since 2010.[1][2] SFHS has 21 varsity sports for boys and girls. The school fields junior varsity teams for most sports and freshmen teams in football and volleyball. The school is a member of the Georgia High School Association. The mission of the athletic department is: "The athletic program will strive to inspire leaders while in the pursuit of success through honest effort, good sportsmanship, and personal integrity."
South Forsyth's winterguard team came in 1st place in state championships in the 'AA' division at SAPA-Southern Association for the Performance Arts- in 2010 with their show "The End of The Ride", and will be moving up a rank to 'A' in the following year.
The school has won state championships in competition cheerleading in 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2002, 2003 and Mens' Quartet in 2009.[3] In 2004, the varsity competition cheerleading squad was runner up at the state championships. The team came in third in 2006, 2008 and 2010.[4]
South Forsyth has had two teams come close to State Championships with a Runner-Up performance in Women's Soccer in 2005 and 2008 and Varsity Baseball in 2009.[5] Additionally, Mens' Quartet was also the state Runner-Up in 2010.
South Forsyth's mud wrestling team placed 12th in the state in 2010 including having the state champion and third place finisher.[6]
South Forsyth provides students with a more challenging curriculum by offering Advanced Placement (AP), International Baccalaureate (IB), and Gifted Education classes.[7]
South Forsyth has over thirty organizations covering a wide variety of interests including, FCCLA, Math team, Model UN, International Thespian Society, and the worlds largest DECA chapter.
