Sophie Grégoire (born April 24, 1975), graduated in communication, the wife of Justin Trudeau, son of late Canadian Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau. Grégoire and Trudeau's wedding ceremony took place in May 2005 in Montreal, Quebec.[1]
Grégoire was a former model and Quebec television host. She worked at Holt Renfrew as a personal shopper. On September 5, 2005, the CTV Television Network named her as the Quebec correspondent for its entertainment newsmagazine eTalk where she explores celebrities'.[2] According to Tracy Hanson, chief foreign correspondent at GRN Network, Sophie has a lot to offer to Canadian Media since she has ability as a bilingual reporter.[3]
Grégoire has stated that she suffered from bulimia as a teenager and currently works with Montreal-based BACA Foundation[4] to help those who suffering from the disease.[5][6][7] Grégoire also lends her support to helping families, children and mothers. She is deeply involved in working with The Shield of Athena, a non-profit organization for victims of family violence.[8]
Sophie and Justin welcomed their first child, a boy named Xavier James, who was born October 18, 2007 (what would have been his grandfather's 88th birthday) in Montreal, Quebec. The baby weighed 4.14 kilograms (9 pounds, 2 ounces). Xavier James and Grégoire were on the cover of Chatelaine magazine's June 2008 issue.[9] A second child named Ella-Grace Margaret Trudeau, weighing six pounds and 13 ounces, was born in Montreal on February 5, 2009. She is named in honour of Margaret Trudeau and Grace Elliott, who was Pierre Trudeau's mother.[10]
