Soho House is a well-known private members club patronized by those in the arts and media. The original location is at Greek Street, Soho, London, England . There are now nine 'houses' worldwide, found in Babington, Notting Hill, Chiswick, Shoreditch, Manhattan’s Meatpacking District, West Hollywood, Berlin and Miami. Its founder and managing director is Nick Jones[1].
According to USA Today the club is "so hip that it even makes it into the August 24 episode of trend arbiter Sex and the City — this time, sexpot Samantha Jones (Kim Cattrall) wants to join the hipster hangout, of which guest-star Geri Halliwell already is a member."[1][2]
Membership is notoriously difficult to obtain and its members are drawn exclusively from the media, arts and fashion industries.
On December 9, 2010, swimwear designer Sylvie Cachay was found dead in a bathtub in a hotel room in the New York location. It was later alleged that her boyfriend at the time held her under water and strangled her.[3]
