Sogeri is a town in the Central Province of Papua New Guinea. It is located on the main highway from Port Moresby to Popondetta near the start of the Kokoda Track, and contains the headquarters of the Koiari Rural local-level government area.

Education

Sogeri is home to two secondary schools. Sogeri National High School, one of four state-run Year 9–12 schools in Papua New Guinea, which was founded in 1944 by Australian troops, and Iarowari High School, a Year 9–11 school west of the main town established in 1962. A state elementary and primary school are also located in Sogeri.

Agriculture

The surrounding region grows lettuces, tomatoes, sweet potato, coffee, cattle and poultry. It receives significantly more rainfall than Port Moresby.
