Skyss is a county owned public transport administration company that will take over the management, but not operation, of public transport in Hordaland, Norway. The company will administrate public service obligation (PSO) contracts as well as promote public transport in the county. The administration is also responsible for ticketing and branding of the transport. Included in its range of authority is buses, fast ferries as well as the Bergen trolleybus and Bergen Light Rail, the latter from the opening in 2010.[1]

The first routes to be administrated are the ones in Austevoll, starting on January 1, 2008. Other areas will be taken over when PSO contracts are taken into use. Prior to this, basically all routes in the county are operated by Tide, who operate under their own brand. Skyss will also launch Skysskortet, a wireless ticket system for payment of travel throughout the county, to be launched step-wise in 2008.[2]
