Sirumalai

Sirumalai (Tamil: சிறுமலை) is a region of 60,000 acres (200 km2) situated 25 km (16 mi) from Dindigul, India. There are many high hills in the area.[1] Hillock International School is located in Sirumalai.[2] Sirumalai is a dense forest with moderate climate throughout the year. The altitude of the hill is 1600 meters above sea level. It contains diversified flora and fauna and variety of animals. The famous Sirumalai Banana is slowly disappearing due to a number of disceases associated with it which no one is able to solve. The Sirumalai farmers in order to get the cutting orders, have planted Silver Oak excessively to an extent that in many parts it has become mono culture. But what they fail to understand is Silver Oak is not environment friendly.
