Silesian Separatist Movement (Polish: Śląski Ruch Separatystyczny, German: Schlesische Separatisten-Bewegung, Silesian: Ślůnski Ruch Separatystyczny, abbreviated as SRS) is a movement officially declaring its support for the independence of Silesia and official recognition of Silesian nation in Poland.

The association was founded in 19 March 2007 as Federation for the Development of Silesia (Polish: Federacja Rozwoju Śląska)[1] because the Polish government is fighting with separatists from Silesia and Silesian nation and will not agree to such a name. After several months, renamed on "Silesian Separatist Movement" (planned name). Now, SRS is a registered association, KRS 0000276432.[2][3]

The association based mainly in the Polish part of Upper Silesia. It has its roots in the self-governing entities movement which has a long tradition (Silesian duchies existed about 800 years, from 1138 to 1918), a movement that sees the Silesians as a separate nation rather than primarily as Poles, Germans and Czech.

Silesian Separatist Movement refers to Union of Upper Silesians (until 1924, operating in Germany), which wanted independence for Silesia, Silesian People's Party (until 1938 operating in Austria-Hungary), which wanted the independence of Austrian Silesia and whole Silesia and Association of Defense of Upper Silesians (pl:Związek Obrony Górnoślązaków) which wanted the granting of minority rights for Silesians in Poland.
