Sihi Kahi Chandru (Kannada: ಸಿಹಿ ಕಹಿ ಚಂದ್ರು ), is a popular film and television actor in Karnataka, India.He and his wife Sihi Kahi Geetha were the main protagonists in an old Doordarshan Kannada serial titled "Sihi Kahi" which was telecast every fridays between 7.00 to 7.30.Those were the initial days of Doordarshan.It was a comdedy serial in which they enacted the role of husband n wife.The serial was a super hit n their friendship blossomed into love and later they walked down the matrimony aisle even in real life.Their success in the serial gave them the name "Sihi Kahi chandru" and "Sihi Kahi Geetha" to him and his wife respectively. He is also a noted theatre personality,known for his famous comedy play "Neenaanaadrenaaneenena"(If you are me,then am i you?).An adaptation of Shakespeare's play "a comedy of errors",incidentally also adapted in film a production in Hindi(Angur). His TV serial by name Bombat Bhojana in Suvarna channel is a big success.his cooking style and concept of cooking is intended at making cooking an easy task that encourages men to try their hand at the more female dominated domestic chore of cooking He has acted in many movies as a comedian, supporting actor. His performance is highly appreciated among the peers and audience.The nickname of "sihi kahi" meaning bitter sweet, is attributed to the diversity of roles that he has portrayed, from comedy to negative roles.His most popular works include a 'Gowri Ganesha','Putakkana Highway' and 'Tenali Rama'.As a director sk chandru or sihi(as he is fondly called), has directed tele-serials like 'silly lalli' and 'paapa pandu'.He is best known for his comedy scenes with bank janardhana and umashri.He also has a crucial cameo in the movie 'ganeshana madhuve' (by Phani ramachandra) as a tax inspector.
