Siegfried Korth was an Obersturmführer (First Lieutenant) in the Waffen-SS during World War II. He was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross in February 1945, when in command of the 3rd Squadron, 18 SS Cavalry Regiment, 8th SS Cavalry Division Florian Geyer, while fighting on the Hungarian Front attempting to break out of the encirclement at Budapest.
