—  village siddavatam or sidhout is a small village in kadapa district of andhra pradesh. the british administered the kadapa district from this place from 1808 to 1812. here is a fort built by hindu nayaks called matli raajulu during the period of vijayanagara empire. the fort was built on the left bank of river penna. mirjumla occupied the fort in the 17th century. later it came under the rule of mayana nawabs. the last among the dynasty nawab alamkhan was defeated by hyder ali of mysore and hyderali destroyed the fort. the fort came into the hands of nizam in 1792. the east india company occupied the fort in the year 1800.(source:-archeologicalsurvey of india)  —
