Shyla Stylez (born September 23, 1982 in Armstrong, British Columbia, Canada) is the stage name of Amanda Friedland,[3] a Canadian pornographic actress.
She was interested in entering the pornography in her teens. She moved to Vancouver and worked as both a stripper and a webcam model, in addition to appearing in nude pictorials. In her off-time, she would contact studios by email and phone to find out how to appear in movies.[4]
She credits Erik Everhard with being the person to formally introduce her to the business.[5] She appeared in her first film, Slap Happy by Anabolic Video, in 2000 at the age of 19.[6] She signed an exclusive relationship with Jill Kelly Productions in 2002 and would later marry their CEO, Bob Friedland, in 2002.[7] They divorced in 2003.
She temporarily left the adult industry in 2005 and began appearing in low-budget films such as Call Girl Wives and Alabama Jones and the Busty Crusade under the name "Amanda Auclair." She returned to pornography in 2006.[8]
Stylez was involved in a sex scandal with former Orange County assistant-sheriff George Jaramillo, where she was noted as having had several sexual encounters with him.[3]
Stylez hosted the Los Angeles independent TV show Un-Wired TV in 2007.[9][10]
In 2010, she was named by Maxim as one of the 12 top female stars in porn.[11]
