The Shri Shankaracharya College of Engineering and Technology (SSCET) is named after Adi Shankaracharya. This college was commissioned during the session 1999-2000 with the goal of providing undergraduate and postgraduate education in Engineering and Technology, a close interaction with industry, and a strong emphasis on research and development.

SSCET has grown steadily in size and activities during the last five years of its existence. During 1999-2000 the yearly enrollment was 240 students and today it is 720 for BE,120 for MBA,120 for MCA and 90 seats for ME and M.Tech courses. Courses of SSCET are accredited by the National Board of accreditation. Also it's an ISO 9001:2000 Certified Institute. SSCET was the first choice of students seeking admission in 2003-2004 & also in 2004-2005 in the state of Chhattisgarh.
The college is situated in Bhilai, Chhattisgarh.
The Institute currently offers bachelor degree programs, Masters degree programs, Doctoral degree programs in Engineering, Computer Science & Management areas of study .
A modern, high-tech, and eco-friendly campus with 21,000 sq m. built up area (Phase I) with excellent physical and IT infrastructure and facilities.
Modern and learner-friendly classrooms and tutorial rooms with latest audio and video systems teaching tools and apparatuses. State-of-the-art laboratories, workshops, and internet facility with the latest hardware and software.
Library with the latest books, journals and CD-ROMS and a state-of-the-art computer center. It can accommodate more than 450 readers at a time.
Cafeteria, ATM, medical center, book store, telephone kiosks, recreation center, gymkhana, and indoor and outdoor games facilities.
The magnificent and picturesque Laliteshwar Temple adds peace and tranquility to the surroundings.
Phase II of infrastructure under progress with built up area of about 9000 sq m. to create more lecture theaters, classrooms, laboratories, auditorium, continuing education centre, research centres, faculty buildings, club house, and open air theatre.
Also located in the campus are a Few Campus-Shops, that take care of the books, stationery items and other day-to-day requirements of the students staying in the hostels.
The campus has lush green surroundings and a landscape project which provide a magnificent view.
Presently SSCET offers the following undergraduate and post graduate programs. Further programs have been planned for the coming session.

SSCET offers the following four-year degree courses in engineering branch.
The entire course is divided into eight semesters. The ordinance of Chhattisgarh Swami Vivekanand Technical University, Bhilai, is being followed in respect of attendance, examination, rules for passing, award of degree etc.
